For the last while I have seen a severe spike in bandwidth on my site. I tracked it down to some rotten Chinese mp3 search engines that have spidered my site and linked to my distro samples. I have made some attempts to block these fuckers out but MAY have been a little too draconian in my efforts. I recently made some changes to the distro section (with a little help from my friend who works at Yahoo!). New features include paging so you won't have to scroll down and down and down just to see everything. Just click the letters across the top. Next feature is the "sliding" down of additional info for each item. Just click Toggle More/Less Info to show and hide the additional info. Finally, the 15 most recent additions to the distro will have a red New Item in front when browsing the distro. Hope the changes make the distro easier to navigate. | |
To fall inline with our values of being anti-business and anti-profit None More Black Records is officially a $5 distro. At this price we break even with enough money left over to finance the next project. It allows us to be self sustaining. Plans are to start doing vinyl releases next year. Vinyl releases will not fall under the $5 pricing as manufacturing costs for vinyl is much higher then CD. Once we get final quotes on manufacturing prices we will be able to determine the lowest price possible.
